Random-access memory, or RAM, is one of the most important components in all devices, from PCs to smartphones to game consoles. Without RAM, doing just about anything on any system would be much, much slower. On the flip side, not having enough for the application or game youíre trying to run can bring things to a crawl or even prevent them from running at all.

But what is RAM exactly? In a nutshell, itís an extremely fast component that temporarily stores all the information a device needs right now and in the near future. Accessing information in RAM is insanely fast, unlike slower hard drives, which provide long-term storage.

RAM stores information for the moment and works as long as it has electricity, unlike hard drives where information is stored by a magnetic disc. BTW, you need to know that type of RAM supports your motherboard : DDR3/DDR4 , to see this in windows 10 go to task manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) -> Performance -> Memory and in the right top corner it should be written exactly. And a little advice , buy 16 GB of RAM (2 x 8GB) at 3000 mHz ( if you have DDR4).

Random-access memory is a form of computer memory that can be read and changed in any order, typically used to store working data and machine code.
